Hello,
You can upload it on a shared host but you have to install akelos there. Just define the AK_FRAMEWORK_DIRK as bermi suggested in another discussion.
Or akelos should be able to include the framework into your application (from the booklink tutorial):
Usage: setup [-sqphf --dependencies] <-d>
-deps --dependencies Includes a copy of the framework into the application
directory. (true)
-d --directory=<value> Destination directory for installing the application.
-f --force Overwrite files that already exist. (false)
-h --help Show this help message.
-p --public_html=<value> Location where the application will be accesed by the
webserver. ()
-q --quiet Suppress normal output. (false)
-s --skip Skip files that already exist. (false)
-jyrki
The requirements are really low. PHP4 or PHP5, MySQL or SQLite and 5MB HD space.
Akelos has been coded with shared hosting in mind. As "iJyrki" points, you can move the location of about anything in Akelos, so if after you have coded your app you want to move everything into a ./includes/ folder, Akelos makes it ieasy to decide your source organization.
Akelos at a server level is not required at all. Akelos is self contained, but if you have several apps on a same server it comes handy to have a centralized installation.
